We are excited to invite submissions for our panel: “Embodied Knowledge(s), Technological Distancing, and Experience” at 4S 2025, on Sept. 3rd – 7th in Seattle. This panel is concerned with how technological ways of seeing and describing the world are shaping social and embodied constructions of knowledge, skills, and experience.

We welcome abstracts that address themes such as:

  • Embodied knowledge and its relationship to digital or technological tools
  • The role of experience, memory, and emotion in mediated environments
  • Challenges of technological distancing in learning, labor, or community settings
  • Critical engagements with embodiment in virtual and physical spaces
